MINISTER for Petroleum and Energy Nixon Duban has appointed the interim landowner leadership committees for Hides PDL1 (Petroleum Development Licence) and PDL-7 blocks.
Duban, pictured, noted the absence of a fully-pledged clan vetting exercise and issues which needed to be addressed in the two areas.
The appointments are consistent with the Hides PDL-1 Licence Based Benefits Sharing Agreement which calls for the establishment of two equity companies in PDL-1 and PDL-7.
One will be led by the Tuguba tribe and the other by the Hiwa tribe. The equity companies are Gas Resources Gigira and Gas Resources Hides 4 for the 2.78 per cent equity currently managed by the Mineral Resources Development Company.
There is also the 4.22 per cent equity currently managed by Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited under the Kroton equity arrangement.
The interim committee to work with Duban, MRDC and State agencies on matters regarding 2.78 per cent Gas Resources Gigira equity will be led by Tuguyawini Libe Parindali.
The other committee members are Makape Katia, Willie Wandiya, Aloysius Mukani, Philip Iruka and Obert Malanga (or Thomas D Ola).
Landowner representatives to work with the Minister for Petroleum and Energy on the 4.22 per cent Kroton equity matters will be led by Hamule Ngiame.
Committee members are Larry Andagali, Eric Kembe, Wandiago Kau, Dickson Ango and Kakapaia Parindali.
For PDL-7, Duban appointed Chris Payabe to lead the team consisting of interim committee members Jackson Lai, Willie Ayule, Telape Parindali and Patrick Dabugo.
They will work with him and the MRDC on matters regarding the 2.78 per cent Gas Resources Hides 7 equity.
Duban also appointed Andy Hamaga as the leaders of the team comprising committee members Ega Ri Gapiako, John Kaloma, Endorse Ayagali, Luyabe Urubu, George Iruka and Eric Haroli.
They will work with the Minister and Kumul Petroleum Holdings Ltd regarding the 4.22 per cent Kroton equity.
