DULUX Group branch in Lae held its annual safety day with its partners last Friday.
The group’s managing director Simon Barstow said Dulux Group spent millions each year on safety protocols to ensure employees, partners and visitors on site were safe.
“The group also provide training and support to its resellers as well as contractors to make sure that their operations are in line with our standards of safety,” said Barstow.
He told the contractors and re-sellers who were invited to the event that the group’s safety day was significant as the standards of safety they had would go a long way in helping them.
“Safety at work place is of paramount importance. The local contractors that we train here have that opportunity to get themselves engaged with other multi-international companies,” he said.
He challenged the employees, the contractors and partners of Dulux Group, saying safety at workplace should be a choice.
Barstow said what was learnt about safety at workplace should be practised at the family level as well.
Safety and sustainability manager Titus Kuman said the group’s safety day fell at the beginning of every year.
“This shows the commitment from the group’s management regarding safety at the workplace,” said Kuman.
