ALL the schools in the Hagen district of Western Highlands received a major boost from their local MP and Minister for Petroleum and Energy William Duma.
The Hagen Central joint district planning and budget priorities committee presented a cheque for K1 million to all schools on top of K600,000 worth of school uniforms to 18 primary schools and another K300,000 worth of reading books.
The presentation will benefit 25 primary schools, four elementary, a vocational and a secondary school.
All primary schools received K40,000 each, the four  elementary schools received K20,000 each, while Hagen Park Secondary received K120,000 from the K1 million.
The Mt Hagen Secondary received its
share of K200,000 two weeks ago during the Grades 10 and 12 graduation.
The 10,000 copies of books written by
two local authors, Dr Allan Kulunga and Tiri Kuimbukul, titled Understanding
HIV/AIDS and Life After Graduation respectively, will be distributed to primary and secondary schools.
The headmaster of Mt Hagen United Primary School Philip Kos said during his career, he had never seen a local MP make such presentations to schools in his electorate.
He said Duma had made history.
