TWO grade 12 school leavers from Mt Hagen Secondary have been selected to study in China under a scholarship scheme by Education Pacific Agency.
Elijah Waim and Gideon Omena finished secondary school with GPAs above 3 but missed out on the selections to continue.
They never gave up searching for opportunities until they found out about EPA and applied for the scholarship.
“We knew we did well but we were not given an opportunity to study here due to space limitation, so we searched for chances to continue studying and finally got the opportunity to go overseas,” Waim said.
They thanked their parents and family for not giving up on them and fully supporting them to go one step further and secure the scholarship.
They were both selected to study International Economics and Trade at Shenyang Aerospace University in Shenyang City.
They were part of a total of 51 students selected to study various courses in various universities in China.
