Duo to stand trial

TWO men have been committed by a committal court in Port Moresby to stand trial for armed robbery.
Magistrate Paul Puri Nii ordered Casey Johnunda, 18, from Ialibu, South Highlands, and Francis Berghumer, 23, from Baga village, Northern, to stand trial over an alleged robbery at Rainbow Big Rooster in the National Capital District.
“I have assessed the police evidence and it is sufficient to commit both defendants for the charge of armed robbery under the Criminal Code Act,” Magistrate Nii said. Police evidence on Nov 11, 2021, showed that there was a robbery and four suspects were allegedly involved.
