Duo’s dedication, loyalty pays off

National

This week’s winners of The National masthead competition are Sanaka Salewa, from Widama village in Balimo, Western, and Yasaptong Mayang, from Morobe.
They each won K250.
Salewa, 53, said he started entering the competition since it began and was wondering when luck would come his way.
“When I was entering, I had a strong feeling that I was going to win this time,” he said.
“When I was going through the paper, I saw my name and I got a shock, really.”
Salewa said he didn’t have plans how to spend with the money as the win was sudden.
He said he would probably share it with his wife and four children for their bus fares.
Salewa said he liked reading The National and thanked the newspaper for the competition that gave people something to look forward to each week.
“This win encourages me to keep on buying more papers and playing this competition,” he said.
Seventy-five year-old Yasaptong Mayang, from Morobe, loves to read the newspaper from cover to cover Monday to Friday.
He said it had interesting articles every day and loved to follow up on captivating stories.
His 19-year-old grandson Job Mayang collected all the mastheads and decided to try the competition last week.
