E-kiosk to transform land deals

AN innovated E-Lands (electronic) kiosk, an initiation aimed at revolutionising land management services in the country, will help improve services at the Lands and Physical Planning Department, says Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso.
Rosso, who is also lands and physical planning minister, said the partnership by Kina Bank, NiuPay and the department was encouraging.
According to a statement from Kina Bank yesterday, the project integrated Kina Bank’s payment processing solutions to facilitate efficient service delivery.
The kiosk was launched on Dec 7 in Port Moresby by Rosso, witnessed by Kina Bank PNG chief executive officer Roppe Uyassi and NiuPay founder James Inglis.
Rosso said the kiosk would help reduce queues for people accessing land services and paying fees as well as improve revenue collection.
He said the E-Lands kiosk, featuring a 32-inch digital interface, was designed and built in PNG.
In this partnership, Kina Bank provided the integrated payment processing infrastructure, including internet payment gateway and Eftpos (electronic funds transfer at point of sale) systems, ensuring a seamless and smooth transaction experience for users.
“It is an inclusive system, meaning anyone can access it from individuals to corporate clients at any time, and anywhere.
“This will also ensure all transactions are done transparently and, most importantly, there will be an electronic record of every transaction,” Rosso said.
Uyassi said this collaboration “is a prime example of how technological innovation can enhance public services in PNG.
“Currently, in its trial phase in Port Moresby, the kiosk project is planned to expand to other centres across the country.
“Signifying a major advancement in the digital transformation of public service delivery,” Uyassi said.
