EAGLE Boys has partnered with the CPL Group to bring the brand to Papua New Guinea.

The pizza franchise’s first store is located in Central Waigani.

A second will open outside CPL Group’s Stop and Shop supermarket in the city centre by the end of August.

Over the next two years Eagle Boys is looking at opening 13 stores across PNG.

Eagle Boys chief executive officer Bruce Scott said the brand opted for the CPL Group because of its retail strength and connections with local communities.

“CPL Group has been trading for close to 30 years and matched Eagle Boys’ lengthy experience in the retail market,” he said.

“Eagle Boys’ expansion into the PNG market is the perfect opportunity to continue the network’s growth internationally.

“We expect our relationship with CPL Group will be a long term business partnership benefiting both companies.”

CPL Group’s general manager for supermarket and food business, Michael Taylor said the partnership would not only benefit both companies but the nation as a whole.

“Partnering with Eagle Boys was an excellent opportunity for CPL Group to continue its growth in the retail sector and Eagle Boys Pizza is a fantastic addition to our company’s portfolio,” Taylor said.

“This opportunity ensures two world class companies are partnering to ensure successful results. Opening the Eagle Boys stores is a great benefit for local communities in PNG and the country’s economy.”
