MONI PLUS-SPONSORED Port Moresby Australian Football League (AFL) will head into its deciding round of pre-season matches at the Colts Oval tomorrow.
This will be followed by the finals in the afternoon to decide the men’s and women’s winners.
The deciding round begins at 10am with pace-setters Bismark Maritime West Eagles and Cats locking horns to determine the outright men’s leader.
Both teams went undefeated in last week’s round-robin matches, and are on eight points apiece.
The winners of this match will book the first place in the finals in the afternoon.
Following this match will be another men’s clash between Dockers and Tigers at 10.30am.
The Dockers are heavily tipped to win this match.
The women’s first-placing decider will begin at 11am between the undefeated Gordon Kokofas and West Eagles after the Dockers-Tigers clash. That will be followed by another women’s clash between Dockers and Concept Koboni to decide the minor placing.
Two other minor-placing men’s clashes will kick off at midday with Gereka Bombers taking on Gordon Kokofas before Concept Koboni battle rookies Port Power, of Port Moresby Technical College.
The finals will take place at 1pm with the women’s first and second-place getters vying for top honours.
That will be followed by the men’s first and second-place getters locking horns at 3pm for the pre-season title.
League president Douglas Lai said all finals would be played the full four quarters as a normal match.
He said he was expecting a good crowd from the AFL fraternity in the nation’s capital.
