THE School of Business Administration Eagles take on the Souths Arts Warriors in the UPNG rugby league final on Saturday.
The Eagles, who claimed the minor premiership, take on the unpredictable Warriors at the University Oval.
Competition chairman Sandis Tsaka Jr said women’s final as well as a representative trial (Blacks v Reds) would be played before the A grade final.
Tsaka commended the Eagles and Warriors for their efforts throughout the season.
“The Eagles and Warriors have been the most consistent performers this season and we congratulate them for making it this far,” Tsaka said.
He also thanked the other 18 teams for their efforts.
“We thank the teams that made the playoffs and for those who missed out, we encourage you to return next season and do better,’ Tsaka said.
Tsaka said the grand final would be a big challenge for the league to organise as they had not confirmed a sponsor yet for the awards and prizes.
“We have written to companies for sponsorship and we are still waiting for their response this week,” he said.
“I believe that we will have something for the grand finalists because there are a few companies who have shown interest in backing the UPNG league.”
Tsaka called on students to turn up on Saturday to support their teams and enjoy the final round of matches for the season.
