CITY Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) group, has announced the first major prize winner for its Christmas Scratch-to-Win competition.
Christopher Atbo, 33, from the East Sepik scratched the winning card on a shopping trip at the supermarket’s Rainbow outlet on Tuesday.
“I’m still in a state of shock! Wow, CPL, Wow!,” Atbo said.
“This was just a regular shopping trip because I shop here all the time since it’s close to where I live.”
Atbo, who lives in Port Moresby’s Rainbow Estate, has an engineering background, and runs a small business that engages youths from the neighbouring Gerehu surburb, located in the Moresby North West electorate.
The Christmas Scratch-to-Win competition is currently running at all Stop & Shop (SNS) and Hardware Haus stores nationwide.
“We are rewarding our most loyal customers and Atbo happens to be one of them,” CPL group’s general manager for finance Nazar Shaffee said.
“He is a regular shopper at SNS Rainbow and this prize is befitting to his loyalty.”
Atbo had bought groceries at the Rainbow SNS worth K200 where he received the Scratch-to-Win cards.
One of those was the lucky winning card to a new Nissan Urvan 15-seater bus.
“I am yet to get a driver’s licence, so I cannot drive but this win is reason enough to get some driving lessons,” he said.
“The vehicle will help serve my business and family.
“I am thankful to CPL and SNS for their support through this Christmas competition and also the many community programmes and organisations, small businesses and charities.”
Customers need to spend a minimum of K30 at SNS stores and a minimum of K100 for Hardware Haus to be eligible to receive scratch cards to win over 60,000 prizes.
“This is one way of saying thank you to our loyal customers with prizes worth over K500,000,” Shaffee said.
