THE Sausso local level government in Yangoru-Saussia, East Sepik, has allocated K50,000 for a bridge over the Pambunjing River.
The bridge will connect Munji village with Sogoro and Hambuke villages.
Work on the road to connect the villages has started.
Sausso LLG president Alois Ningi said the provincial government would also step in to assist with the bridge and road works.
“The funds I allocated were roll over funds from last year to work on some projects in the LLG,” he said.
“We currently don’t want the Covid-19 situation to delay or hinder development in Sausso.
“The road and bridge work in the LLG have not been progressing well as expected because the LLG managers are not cooperating well with us.
“The LLG managers must work with us (presidents) but they are not and progress has been very slow.”
Ningi said the National Government had not released their funds for this year and they were still waiting for the funds to deliver services.
He said he wanted work on the Munjing to Wiemungu and Turingi junction road to be fast tracked to connect Timbunke in Angoram.
“I’d like to thank the provincial government and Governor Allan Bird for the Timbunke road work which has started,” he said.
“This road will connect the serve a lot of people from both Yangoru-Saussia and Angoram districts.”
