THE Bulolo district education primary standards office has rejected a report in the media last week that it had planned a high school for the Buang local level government.
Bulolo district primary standards officer Kwinda Trenien has described the media report, which quoted
him as saying Buang local level government would have its own high school, as “totally incorrect”.
The report appeared in The National on April 18.
Trenien admitted he had discussed the issue with Buang LLG president Steven Sep and Bulolo district elementary school inspector Kund Yanam.
But, he said, that had only been a discussion between friends after Zari villagers in Buang LLG had been presented with working materials by Bulolo MP Sam Basil.
Trenien said their conversation must have been overheard by a reporter.
“I did not make a public or official statement or announcement on this topic,” he said.
The LLG officers implicated in the report were surprised the private discussion had been made public.
Trenien said such report had questioned his credibility as a standards officer and had tarnished his reputation.
