Eels setting the pace in Rigo

TUBUTOLA Eels are setting the pace in the Rigo Rugby League competition after round three at the Kwikila oval on Saturday.

The Eels escaped defeat from Biga Brothers in a scoreless affair that leaves them unbeaten.

It was a weekend of improvement as teams are better prepared for the matches that attract capacity crowds.

In other matches,, Imuty Cowboys were held 4-4 by a much improved Gunugau Bulldogs and Kwikila Varovarona shut out newcomers Hula Vula’a 8-0.

The Junior Kumuls stopped Saroa Raiders 4-0 and K Gouna beat Vabulava Warriors 12-4. The other matches between Gomore Eagles-SK Broncos and KGirabu Panthers-Bore Tigers will be played at a later date.

In round four this weekend, Bi­ga Brothers take on Tubutola Eels, Girabu Panthers play K Gouna, Saroa Keina Broncos face Vabulava Warriors and the thriller of the day will be Bore Tigers against Junior Kumuls. 

In other matches Hula Vula’a play Imuty Cowboys, Saroa Raiders battle Roosters and Gomore Eagles face Kwikila Varovarona. 

Association president Freddy Nanai Silona again appealed to clubs to pay the affiliation fees of K250 and player registration K30.
