EHP-Chimbu road gets upgrade

PEOPLE living along the Chuave (Chimbu) to Kamaliki (Eastern Highlands) highway will now experience smooth travelling after the upgrading of the road.
Contractor Shorncliffe sealed the first 1.3km of the alternate highway from Chuave station on Monday.
The Asian Development Bank and the government funded the K9.5 million Chuave to Movi sealing
project.
Shorncliffe will work 18.8km along the highway
from Chuave to Movi.
ADB representative and department of works civil engineer Alphonse Gande was present to see the first sealing put on the road.
Shorncliffe project manager Augustine Siou said that the 18.8km pavement of the road had already been done.
He said the Chuave to Movi road sealing project started last September and would be completed in June.
The road would service the people of Chuave, Elimbari, Lande and Siane areas.
