NATIONAL Superannuation Fund (Nasfund) has announced eight of its employer members out of 2,000 members across the country to pilot its latest employer-to-employer discount programme initiative.
The announcement was made on Friday in Port Moresby with the eight employer member companies receiving certificates and their discount cards from Nasfund.
Chief executive officer Rajeev Sharma said this was to foster mutually beneficial relationships between businesses whereby employers could benefit.
The programme offers discounts and promotion opportunities to Nasfund’s employers and members’ base. It is an extension of the members’ discount programme.
The eight member companies are: Brian Bell Group, City Pharmacy Limited, Theodist Ltd, Badili Hardware Limited, Airways Hotel, Lamana Hotel, Digitec ICT Ltd, and Hardware Haus Ltd.
Sharma said the Employer-to-Employer Discount Programme, aimed at benefiting all registered and contributing employers of the Fund.
“This programme extends from the Nasfund Membership Discount Programme and marks a significant step forward in industry innovation,” he said.
During the Fund’s inaugural CEOs Business Breakfast in March, Sharma introduced the Employer-to-Employer Discount Programme, emphasising its importance in supporting over 2,000 employers across the country.
Sharma highlighted the need for parity in benefits, recognising that while current benefits were member-centric, employers contributing a mandatory 8.4 per cent did not enjoy similar advantages.
According to the programme, the eight members will give eachother the discounts – Theodist (5 per cent), Brian Bell (15 per cent), Airways (15 per cent), Airways/Lamana Hotel (20 per cent), Digitec (five per cent) – on its products and services.
“As part of this programme, Nasfund’s registered and contributing employers must acquire an Employer Identification (ID) card and a copy of their employer certificate from Nasfund,” Sharma said.
