Eight village courts in Goroka

GOROKA MP Thompson Harokaqveh presented new uniforms to officials in eight village courts in the district.
The uniforms, worth more than K50,000, were delivered to the officials in Goroka last Thursday.
Along with the uniforms came boots, tables and chairs for the village court officials.
Mr Harokaqveh paid tribute to village court magistrates and peace officials for their effort in maintaining peace and harmony in the community.
He also commit K100,000 to build all village court houses in Goroka district.
Coordinator of special project in the Law and Justice Sector Charles Goto said they wanted to make Eastern Highlands province a peaceful province and an example for other provinces to emulate.
Goroka district village court coordinator Ben Imara said village court leaders solved 30,000 to 40,000 cases in one year and described them as the front runners for peace in the every district in the province.
