Ela Motors has launched the eighth-generation Toyota Hilux which comes in two models and with modern features.
National sales manager Chris Von Oppeln said the two models were the Hilux Rally and the Hilux Platinum.
The Rally costs K168,000 while the Platinum is K178,000.
The launch also marks the 50th anniversary of the Hilux since its launch in 1968.
“It is a milestone in the motor industry,” Von Oppeln said.
“Very few models stand that test of time.
“The Hilux Rally replaces the mid-spec model while the Platinum model will replace the Deluxe version”
“There are quite a few differences.
“A lot of them are cosmetic changes to make the vehicle look more advanced and improve the driving pleasure, such as a reverse camera, improved touch-screen audio system enhanced with Bluetooth, and it will also access your emails off your phone if you have a compatible phone.”
The models are powered by a 2.4litre turbo diesel engine.
The Hilux Rally has been equipped for off-road driving while the Platinum, although as powerful as the Rally, is equipped for in-town driving.
