Embrace cultural heritage more

WE, especially the ones privileged to have been educated and are most likely seen as the generation to safeguard our heritage, are in the thick of things. We may not know it, but we are in battle every second of every day. Do not believe me? Look at what you are doing now. Fixated on phones, computers and other electronic devices 24/7 and only embrace your cultural heritage on special occasions or wear the PNG face paint on Independence Day. That is not enough. We rush towards so-called development and globalisation, and do not live out our ancestral pedigree consistently. Practise makes perfect. We are far from cultural perfection. Instead, we are in a state of cultural defection. It is time for a holistic cultural revolution.
