K2 MILLION has been allocated to the Kada Poroman Micro Finance Ltd by the East New Britain government to be accessed by small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
This was made possible through the signing of a memorandum of agreement by the two parties recently.
KPMFL chairman Jack Walom said the agreement would support local entrepreneurs in creating employment opportunities and generating income for the people in the rural areas.
Walon said the signing also signified the partnership between the government and the financial institution to strengthen SMEs programmes.
“With (the) support of our home grown financial institution, we’ll be focused also on providing and conducting financial literacy programmes for our small SMEs at the ward level,” he said.
“We acknowledge the ENBPG for this revolving fund that will be used by our small business entrepreneur to access to start their business.”
