THE Enga health authority has sworn in its new board members to serve for the next three years.
The ceremony took place in Wabag on Friday.
Evan Paki was sworn in as chairman and John Iso as his deputy. The other members are Francis Possy, Terry Kome, Timothy Andabo, Dr David Mills, Sabeth Yangis, Don Ango, Bob Angaun and Dr Samson Amean.
Enga Health Authority chief executive Aaron Luai said the new board would contribute ideas to move the health service to the people.
Luai said the opening of four community health posts at Porea, Monokam, Tukusanda and Kassi would provide better support to health service delivery.
“I have the trust in this new board to come in with their vast experience to make this province become the top in delivering |quality health services,” Luai said.
He said Enga now had district hospitals at Kompiam, Porgera, Kandep, Wapenamanda and Wabag.
Luai said he was happy with Governor Sir Peter Ipatas’ leadership and his drive to develop health services in the province.
Paki said he needed teamwork to make sure they had plans to deliver the service.
“We will need to work together and make sure what we are after is achieved,” he said.
“This is one of the tasks that will need everyone to cooperate and create a better teamwork for a better health service delivery.”
