Enga people need SMEs

ENGA Provincial Government has invested heavily in the education sector and sporting codes such as rugby league development programmes. The small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, which is the most important sector, has been ignored for a very long time. My New Year message to Governor Sir Peter Ipatas is to give prominence to the growth of this sector in 2016 and beyond because in the long run SMEs will benefit the rural majority of Engans unlike the educated elite who will leave the province for greener pastures. The onus is on the provincial government to start promoting the SME sector.
