Entertaining clash looms between Motuans

 THE SP Port Moresby Rugby Lea­gue will complete first round games this weekend. 

The first of the weekend games will see two Motuan villages-based teams come head-to-head this afternoon.

Bishop Brothers Engineering Ha­­nuabada Hawks and Porebada-based Islands Petroleum Maiari Eagles will revive an entertaining traditional rivalry that goes back to the days of Hanuabada Hawks versus DCA in the 1980s. 

Both are sitting next to each other on the competition ladder with Hawks second with 18 points while the Eagles last weekend claimed equal third on 16. 

On Saturday competition front runners Brothers must not take L & A Construction Kone Tigers lightly. 

The Tigers will be hitting back hard after their six-match winning streak was halted by Hekari Tarangau last week. 

Brothers will be looking to regain the winning form that kept them atop the ladder since day one. 

In the second match, RH Foundation Magani can push a claim for outright second spot if they can stop a hot and cold Kalvaso Property Management Butterflies. 

On the same day, Eco Care Engineering Pumas will find Black Swan International Royals a tougher proponent. 

And in the main game of the day, Tarangau will find out if Flame Kone Storms surprise win over Hawks last week was no fluke.

And on Sunday, defending premiers Eda Ranu Dekenai Construction Dobo Warriors will face Hohola Flies fresh after their heart-stopping win over Royals. 

In the next match, Defence can continue their recent good form with a win over PRK Souths. The curtain-raiser match to the Digicel Cup match between Wamp Nga Hagen Eagles and 

PRK Prima Gulf Isapeas will see PML West take on former glamour side currently sitting last Housething Paga Panthers. Both teams are not playing their best footy but West can show the pride in their new set of jumpers.
