NEW Erima Primary School in Port Moresby has received a computer, stationery supplies, sports equipment and Colgate Palmolive products after winning the company’s back-to-school promotion for the Southern region.
General manager John Wood said that during the back-to-school campaign, schools were encouraged to register to participate in the redemption programme.
“The redemption programme aims to encourage students and teachers nationwide to practise good oral health and hygiene habits.
“To brush twice a day for strong healthy teeth and promote hand washing with soap.”
Wood said that schools through their teachers and students collected empty packets of any Colgate or Protex products.
“The more they collected, the more prizes they win for their schools,” he said.
Colgate Palmolive registered 283 schools throughout Papua New Guinea this year, 42 more than the previous year. More than 96,000 empty packets were collected, 15,000 more entries than the previous year.
“The winners were chosen through the highest empty packet collections percentage based on the number of students in the school,” Wood said.
Head teacher Yalo Kipungi said that the two-month promotion encouraged teachers and students to practise oral health and hygiene habits.
