Ethnic groups make peace after killings, violence

TWO ethnic groups at the centre of a spate of killings and violence in the Moresby-South electorate have made peace after weeks of tension.
People from Tari (Hela) and Kerema (Gulf) agreed to end their fight.
A ceremony was held yesterday at Gorobe in Badili which was attended by police and Moresby-South officers.
Moresby-South administrator Aisop Mol witnessed the shaking of hands by the community leaders of the two groups.
He told the people that there should not be any difference between the different groups that call Moresby-South home.
“In Moresby-South, you see a lot of different ethnic groups, we all live together, that means there should not be any difference between the different groups that call Moresby-South home,” Mol said.
