Events to be used for awareness

PNG Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Isi Henry Leonard says the organisation will use mini cultural events to do the Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine awareness.
He was updating their stand on the Covid-19 vaccine and said the country was very poor in pursuing the vaccination programme.
“More awareness is needed,” he said.
“We are looking into addressing the Covid-19 issues and vaccination because when the Covid-19 struck PNG, the tourism industry was devastated.”
Leonard said the Covid-19 was here to stay and people were yet to understand it.
The industry wanted to promote domestic tourism away from the major centres to stop transmissions, he said.
This would also allow them to do the Covid-19 awareness and get people vaccinated during the events. Such activities, he said, should be at where the majority of the people were.
