Ex-PM thanks Aust for financing cable

PEOPLE’S National Congress (PNC) party leader and former prime minister Peter O’Neill has thanked Australia for its support in financing the Coral Sea cable that was launched in Port Moresby last week.
O’Neill said the objective of the project, which his Government had negotiated with Australia, was to deliver cheaper, high-speed internet connectivity around the country. However, he was concerned that the price of data for consumers had not come down.
