Executive to continue

THE Morobe provincial health authority board on Friday stated that the reappointment of chief executive officer Grant Muddle for another three months was a decision not taken lightly.
MPHA chairman David Wissink acknowledged receiving a petition from the province’s health workers union demanding the removal of Muddle from his role as CEO of the authority and as head of the Angau Memorial Hospital among a list of allegations and complaints levelled against him.
The petition also highlighted failures on Muddle’s part as CEO to address pressing matters in the administration of Angau such as patient welfare, staff allowances, promotions, entitlements as well as lack of medical supplies, materials and resources in the preparedness of the province to fight the coronavirus.
Wissink said the board had consulted widely before the decision.
