THE National Capital District annual school’s career expo have seen many students from the Port Moresby National School of Excellence secure placing in tertiary institutions, an official says.
Deputy academy Gevena Gwaibo said the annual event was held to inform students about requirements of the various courses institutions offer.
“The purpose of the expo is to ensure that our grade 12 students have enough information for them to make their choices on the online school leaver forms,” she said.
She said since the expo started, more than 75 per cent of students from the school have secured placing in main stream and private institutions over the years.
This year 25 institutions, most of which were private institutions and others of the main stream, took part in the expo.
Gwaibo said the expo was coordinated by the guidance officers and Education Department.
She said 10 students each had turns to visit the 25 exhibitors.
“Students participated well in the expo and it is good as they will learn and will make the right choices according to their marks,” she said.
All secondary schools in the National Capital District and Sogeri National School of Excellence in Central attended the expo.
