THE family of late Rodha Dick have thanked the police for facilitating the process that will see the post-mortem of their late mother today.
Son Napolean Saevaru told The National yesterday that the scanning of the body had been done yesterday and the doctors confirmed that the post-mortem would be carried out today at around 9am.
He said the family members were prepared to receive their mother’s body after the post-mortem for burial.
“I want to thank the police, who responded to our calls through newspaper articles that were published over the last few weeks,” Saevaru said.
“The family members had been waiting for the post-mortem for more than eight months to remove the bullet inside her body and it will be done today.”
Saevaru said after the post-mortem the family would bury their mother and the police could continue their investigation into the death.
Dick was shot by the police at her family home at Suau Compound in Alotau, Milne Bay, last Dec 6 when they (police) went to search for notorious criminal Tommy Baker and his gang after they had attempted to rob Bobona Store.
The family members were not satisfied with the first post-mortem so they requested for the second one.
