Family violence affects everyone

Letters

VIOLENCE in the family psychologically affects every individual of the unit.
Life is just miserable with sleepless nights, use of abusive language, damage of properties, using stones, knives and other weapons , chasing families out from the house, keeping family members hostage and so on.
I feel for many cases that are still hidden under threaten. And to speak for my own family which has been experiencing the same thing for a couple of years now.
Since my older sister got married, it has been a very drastic situation.
One major factor that contributes to the ongoing violence is turnaround time.
The time to see the right people, and the time to get the right service of the law enforcers at the right time.
Reporting complaints to the authorities that never react to cases immediately, prolong the situation of family violence.
Thank you to the partners that are taking initiative to support the law and order sector; especially to aid for the victims of sexual and family violence.
And I believe, it will only minimise violence if the complained reports are actioned immediately, and the perpetrators facing the law at the earliest possible.
We’ve taken complaints to the authoritites to seek justice, but to no avail.
Officers’ responsible to deal with every violence situations should look at complying every case seriously in order to protect every individual, whether the victim is being hurt or not.
Even public speaking awareness should be conduct in every public places, communities and towns that will improvise law and order to those who lack knowledge and support.
