FASHION designer Wandid Amini Korimbo, the director of Niugini Native, says its partnership with Jack’s of PNG for another three years shows a commitment to market PNG.
Korimbao said during the start of the Jack’s of PNG design competition last week that there was a lot of talent in PNG.
“Niugini Native is my corporate line. I have been designing for Jacks since 2017.
“They saw me during the Stella Runway show.
“It’s a great opportunity because at least we know that Jack’s is also giving back to PNG and promoting local designers as well.
“Jack’s is supporting local designers and our motifs being put up by the designers themselves.”
She is based in Port Moresby and has six line designs in the shops.
“I do corporates. So I have to be careful with what I do Jack’s also register all their motifs.”
She went to school in Fiji.
“I was there for three years. Fiji has their culture.
“They have a particular motif unlike in PNG.”
She said the partnership with Jack’s PNG had been good.
“They have renewed my contract for another three years.
“So I have been with them for four years. It has been a good experience. “It has promoted my line not only in Pom but throughout PNG in their shops in Lae, Madang and Mt Hagen.
The designs are sold at Waigani Central and Vision City.
