Fashion designers display outfits

ELEVEN local fashion designers displayed their work through various collections during the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG Project Runway in Port Moresby last Saturday.
The show was to promote PNG culture, values and identity through the designers’ outfits.
The winner of this year’s Miss Papua New Guinea Pageant will wear and display the designs at the Miss Pacific Island Pageant in Fiji in December.
The 11 designers were Annete Sete (Lavagal-Bilas Collection), Yana Copeland (Yana-Queen Ruby Collection), Yaku Ninich (PNG Fashion International-The Amani collection), Luena Temu (Ui-Tiki Fashions-Serau Collection), Anna Amos (AA Tribal-Tribal Bride Collection), Miriam Xkenjik (Xkenjik D-Style-Mumihkuina Collection), Natasha Tamanabae (Elite Fashion-Baiwa Collection), Tabu Warupi ((Tabu-Sunset Dreams Collection), Elizabeth Omeri (Denani Designs-Doba collection), Cynthia Chapman (Seragodo Designs-Tarigu Collection) and Genevieve Igara Falevai and Henry Iyaro (Wantok Clothing).
They were featured in three categories: day and evening wear, sarong wear and the traditionally-inspired dress.
The day and evening wear category was won by Natasha Tamanabae of Elite Fashion (K3000).
Yana Copeland won K3000 in the sarong wear category.
The traditional inspired dress category was won by Genevieve Igara Falevai and Henry Iyaro of Wantok Clothing.
They received K4000 plus a trip to Fiji as the stylists for the Miss PNG at the Pacific Island Pageant in December.
