A FASTER game of cricket is set for Sunday as teams from the Port Moresby cricket competition gear up for a four-weekend stint.
The event, to be played over the next four weekends, will be fast and furious with a six-a-side format, where clubs will have to nominate 10 players.
However, only six players will take the field with each team bowling eight overs each.
Cricket PNG said in a statement that the innings must be completed in 27 minutes and each team must bowl five bowlers with a maximum of two overs per bowler.
No-balls and wides will only be re-bowled in eighth over of each innings.
Two fielders must be on each side of wicket and all balls bowled with the keeper and bowler within a 50m boundary for all men’s teams, including U19, while the women and U16 will play in a 45m boundary.
To win, each club must field a team in every grade else points will be effected and chances to win the prize money and equipment will be reduced.
