A FEASIBILITY study report costing K128 million for the upgrading and rebuilding of Madang town roads has been completed.

It was handed over to the director of the Madang provincial works Hudd Kasas last Friday.

Kasas said he would be advising the provincial adviser Bernard Lange and Governor Jim Kas to present the report to the national works office in Madang so it could it seek funding for the construction.

Kasas said the feasibility study was conducted last year by Sun Moon and Star (SMS) Design and Construction Company.

He said the company owned by Koreans were engaged by former governor and Rai-coast MP James Gau to construct the Yowor Bridge in his electorate.

“SMS was further engaged to conduct the feasibility study of all town roads and have just submitted the report costing K128 million,” Kasas said.

He said the study included the upgrading and building of the town road into four lanes.

Kasas said two Wagol bridges, one at North Coast road and another at the Baidal road near Lae Builders facility, would be demolished and re-constructed into modern city bridges.

“The Nabasa Airport road would also be upgraded and extended into four lanes to ease the flow of traffic into town,” Kasas said.
