ON behalf of Hela students, I would like to say thank you to Anderson Pawa Agiru and the Hela provincial administration for the quick intervention to financially assist Hela students at  the Pacific Adventist University.

I believe that it is an excellent way of starting this academic semester through such support from the provincial government.

A total of 40 students at the PAU campus are very pleased with the support.

Most of the students had no hope and were planning to withdraw this semester.

Not because of academic termination on disciplinary grounds but because of the shortfall of fees.

The fees assistance was timely.

It was the answer to our prayers.

We believe that the help was a blessing from God who saw that we desired to accomplish our academic goals.

We have dreams that we want to realise.

As such, we students assure the governor and the provincial administration that we will perform to the best of our abilities in theory and in practice.

We believe that the knowledge and skills gained will be of great value when we return hom to help develop our province.

By the same token, we also urge other local MPs to follow Agiru’s footsteps.

Make it a priority to subsidise fees for Hela students studying in universities.

With that, we thank Agiru and the provincial administration  for making this important decision for Hela students at PAU.
