Female student wins scholarship

 Christine Sahuburua, a third-year mining engineering student at the University of Technology, is the only female candidate and recipient of Ok Tedi Mining Ltd’s undergraduate scholarship this year.

Pro vice-chancellor (academic) Prof M A Satter spoke highly of Sahuburua and congratulated other recipients for their achievement.

Satter encouraged them to be responsible and do well in their studies. 

He commended the mining engineering department for being at the forefront of Unitech in contributing towards the development of the mining industry and the country

The second recipient of OTML’s undergraduate student scholarship was Richard Mabiria, a third-year mining engineering student as well.

On behalf of the scholarship recipients, Mabiria thanked OTML for believing in them and awarding them the sponsorship.

He said the scholarships had lifted the financial burden off their parents.
