Film company receives K20,000

THE NATIONAL Cultural Commission (NCC) will look to support the film industry which will create employment and generate revenue for the country, says its executive director Steven Kilanda.
Kilanda said this during a cheque presentation of K20,000 to Pacific Media Solution (PMS) in Port Moresby last week.
He said the government-mandated commission would work to empower filmmakers in the country.
“We are happy to work with local film producers and encourage filmmakers to affiliate with us to ensure their work is recognised and supported,” he said.
Kilanda said they were doing their best support to local filmmakers to promote the industry and culture, with a policy already in place.
Kilanda said the commission was happy to help PMS to finalise the editing of its feature film titled “Black Python”.
Meanwhile, PMS filmmaker spencer William Wangaren thanked the commission for the support.
“‘Black Python’ is an action-packed film like the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise,” he said.
