FIREMEN educated the public on fire safety in an awareness programme at the Kokopo Market in East New Britain on Friday to mark the Fire Safety Campaign week.
ENB carried out the programme for two days with a talkback show on Catholic Radio station at the Vunapope Catholic Church headquarters in Kokopo on Wednesday and campaign proper on Friday.
The team from the Kokopo Fire Station led by acting superintendent Paul Yalongi gave the public some of basic and vital fire safety tips through demonstrations and posters.
The public were asked to take turns and experience how to put out fires using an extinguisher.
“Fire safety is not for us firemen only but it’s everybody’s business,” Yalongi said.
