LJ Hooker Real Estate Limited backed the Port Moresby Corporate Snooker Competition with K10,000 as naming-rights sponsor yesterday.
The competition cues off on March 17 with six to eight teams in the premier division and the inclusion of A and B grades this year.
LJ Hooker managing director Karan Rana made the announcement in the presence of Port Moresby Billiard and Snooker Association president John Chan, his deputy Joseph Chan and staff from the real estate firm.
He said the company was proud to sponsor the upcoming season.
“We are excited to see some top players return this season and encourage new ones to join the fun,” Rana said.
“This competition has always proven to be exciting and it will be no different this year. We’re looking forward to how it unfolds.
“We congratulate Chan and his executives for running the competition over the years.”
Chan said last season’s champions DKS Snipers, who have the experienced Marcus Ng and Ikupu Ovia, were set for their title defence.
Nings Flyer, with Roger Ng and Gus Kraus, will be aiming to go one better after finishing last season as runners-up.
Competition director Joseph Chan is informing all interested captains to contact him via email on [email protected] for team nomination forms. A meeting is set for 6pm at the Q-Club on March 7.
