TRADE Link International Limited has conducted with the School of Medical Science a one-day workshop for final-year Bachelor of  Medical Imaging Science students.

The workshop was enriched with hands-on experience for participants on the F37RT3D machine, a high-end colour-doppler machine which features Realtime 3D.

The workshop was attended by nine students and three faculty members.

The workshop was conducted by the product manager Nithin Mulavakkudy, a biomedical engineer trained by Hitachi Aloka on ultrasound machines.

Trade Link International Limited had won a contract to supply, install and commission ultrasound machines to most of the provincial hospitals.

However, during user-training, Trade Link realised there was a huge gap between the application of ultrasound technology around the world and in Papua New Guinea.

It was one of the many sessions planned to achieve that goal.

Resident director Sajani S. Kattapuram gave out the Certificates of Participation.

Elizabeth Doka, from the faculty of the School of Medicine, thanked Trade Link and deputy Dean Dr John Vince for the session.

Doka said the hands on experience were something the students would require asthe institute did not have an ultrasound machine for their practical training.
