TERRAIN Tamer donated rugby and soccer balls to Eagle Christian Academy in Port Moresby this week, making it the sixth school to receive gear from the four-wheel drive parts company.
The Australian company, which recently opened its second warehouse in Lae, has so far given almost 60 balls to schools in the region as part of an ongoing initiative.
Port Moresby branch manager Jack Tauraki said company was looking at donating more than 350 balls for rugby, soccer, cricket, tennis and netball to more than 20 schools.
He said the company was also looking at improving school resources and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students.
Tauraki and sales representative Joshua Korowa have been travelling to schools to hand over the gear to schools.
“It’s important that children are active and healthy,” he said.
“The initiative has helped our reputation for people to learn more about us.”
The firm has also donated AFL balls to rural communities in Australia and Fiji as part of a campaign to teach children about physical activity.
