BOROKO Motors has opened a one-stop fixed operations centre for light and heavy goods vehicles and automotive parts.

The centre has a wide range of shops selling affordable parts, fabricating, panel, and spray booth and service department for heavy and light goods vehicles of all brands.

Isuzu Motors Ltd senior executive officer Toru Nakata opened the centre witnessed by Jin Wantabe and Ayako Sueyoshi from Ace Creation, Japan and John Borland from Isuzu Australia on Wednesday.

The centre along Butibum Road in China Town demonstrated the company’s success after 51 years of continuous service.

Nakata said PNG was a unique country determined by natural features to import large volume of Isuzu units, vehicles and parts.

“In the past, Isuzu exported 100 units (vehicles and parts) into PNG but currently exporting 1000 units alone – signifying our strong business relationships with this country,” Nakata said.

“Isuzu exports 50 per cent of heavy and 50 per cent of light vehicles,”

General manager Shane Boyce said the amalgamation of all units into one-stop centre reduced logistical problems which incurred expenses.

“Although the economy is suffering a bit of a  hangover  after the LNG construction boom, the significant investment by Boroko Motors demonstrates its confidence anticipating that that situation will soon improve with the next round of major projects in the pipeline,” Boyce said.
