Firm renews support to Athletics PNG

PRIMA Smallgoods has renewed its support of Athletics Papua New Guinea (APNG) with a monthly donation of meat products for Lae-based national squad.
The athletes are continuing to train during the state of emergency with sessions consisting mostly of road running, medicine ball work and the use of a home gyms. Athletes Ephraim Lerkin, Shadrick Tansi and Emmanuel Wanga have been training together for the past three months, as have the women’s group of Leonie Beu, Isila Apkup, Edna Boafob and Mary Kua.
“The women have been able to do a lot of their running at the Lae Showground and use the Scrum Oval, thanks to the support of Scrum and the Morobe Agricultural Society,” APNG president Tony Green said in a statement.
He commended the company for its continued support and thanked Scrum’s Robin Tarere and society president Mike Quinn.
