A TAILORING company is training people in Banz, Jiwaka, how to use sewing machines.

The Ngosinga Tailoring Company in Banz volunteered to train the men and women in Kudzip and Banz areas on how to use the manual sewing machines.

The training started since last Wednesday at Dumbola village next to the Banz Lutheran Church College.

Company manager Danny Kupon said he was doing the service for free.

“The training will take two weeks and after its completion, I will employ them in the company to sew bags, meri blouses and shirts,” he said.

Kupon said he had been sewing shopping bags and school bags and selling them at the gates of the Mt Hagen Market since 2012.

“However, I decided to leave that as many people were taking it up,” he said.

He said as the company grew, he wanted to look at bigger things and employ more people to meet the demand of his customers.

He said he offered the training for free because only a handful of people in the areas had gone through formal education.

Meanwhile, he asked North Waghi MP Dr Fabian Pok and Governor William Tongamp to assist him in helping the people in the province.
