Flights suspended

AIR Niugini flights to Wapenamanda Airport in Enga will be suspended from Oct 1 to allow runway maintenance by the National Airports Corporation (NAC).
According to the airline company, NAC would close the airport to allow runway maintenance work to start and the duration of work would take up to 12 months.
During the period of the closure, all flights will operate to Kagamuga Airport in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands.
Air Niugini operates up to four flights weekly between Port Moresby and Wapenamanda on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and up to six flights a day between Port Moresby and Mt Hagen.
