FLOOD victims in the Mul-Baiyer electorate of Western Highlands were given K30,000 on Thursday by their local MP Koi Trappe.
The money was for the families who had lost their loved ones, homes and gardens to the Feb 3 Kuma River flood following heavy rain.
Mul-Baiyer electoral officer Wesley Koke presented the cheque to deputy chief executive officer of the electorate Robert Rumba.
Koke said it was the MP’s contribution to flood victims.
Koke said since the country was facing the global Covid-19 threat, people should also take precaution against natural disasters.
“This contribution and support will go towards the families of those that have been affected so they can help look for food or shelter,” he said.
Rumba said the support would go direct to the affected communities because they had been waiting for help since Feb 3.
He thanked the MP on behalf of the flood victims for the support.
