Growing and selling flower generates a lot of income because the demand for flower is high nowadays, according to a  florist.

Florist Michael Baa, from the Kay-Bee Potplant group said a lot of offices and organisations placed order for flowers which was generating income for them.

He said growing flowers did not cost much but the profit was huge.

Baa said the Kay-Bee Potplant group supplied flowers to offices on a contract basis.

He said the arranging of flowers was taught by experienced florists who had the skills and knowledge on how to arrange flowers in an attractive manner.

The Kay-Bee Potplant grows its flowers at 9-Mile, Morobe block.

He said the business started in 1998 and had grown as the demand increased.

Baa said in the Kay-Bee Potplant group, he taught women how to arrange flowers to sell them.

He said the prices for each flower jar depended on the size.
