Flower sellers find new market

MEMBERS of the Apo Floriculture Market in Eastern Highlands now have a market to sell their flowers and make an income, thanks to an initiative taken by their team leaders.
The group’s leaders were able to identify markets for their product after a couple of trials last month in Goroka town.
The trials attracted more than 20 flower growers.
More than 300 women in the province registered with the Apo Floriculture Market.
Floriculture event committee secretary Alice Koito said flower sellers sold their products all over the province at different times, but it would be beneficial for buyers and sellers if they could have one location and time.
Koito said they had decided to sell their flowers once a month or during public holidays or at big gatherings under proper arrangements.
She said flower sellers would be able to take their products to a main market and have a better chance of selling them.
