Flying Foxes overwhelm city team

 SLEEPING giants Madang are the biggest mover in the Telikom National Soccer League after its complete whitewash of Port Moresby 4-2 at Laiwaden Oval, in Madang, on Saturday.

After the impressive victory over pre-match favourite, Madang has leapfrogged into fourth spot after sitting sixth on the ladder, thanks to their 4-0 victory over Oro last month.

The victory is certainly a warning to Lae and Port Moresby that Madang is still in the race.

Team Manager Tweedy Malagian said he was happy with the results but would not be content with it as there were more games to go before the finals.

This is the first-ever victory for Madang at home, and they will want to maintain it in the remaining round of the NSL season.
